Besides experiencing my first ever snowfall last night and today (yes, it's true), I also experienced one of the most horrible noises ever created by man this morning. Being woken up at 6 a.m. by the sound of a metal snow shovel being scraped across jagged concrete is not exactly a nature alarm clock. In fact it's the opposite.
There's a school right across the street from me and the caretaker was doing exactly that, no doubt clearing the ice and snow away so the kiddies didn't bust their asses. I swear the guy was just dragging it back and forth ...
